FANTASTİK BİR ÖYKÜ BU

Bir zamanlar, genç bir kıza âşık olan bir hayalet varmış ve o kız için elinden gelen her şeyi yapmaya hazırmış; ancak, hayaletin, kız için soyut bir kavramdan başka bir şey olmaması, bu hayaletin işini zorlaştırıyormuş. Hayaletin tek isteği, o kızın dalgalı saçlarını bir kez okşayabilmek ve gözlerine saatlerce bakmakmış. Tabii, bunun için hayaletin, kız için bir anlam taşıması gerekiyormuş. Hayalet, hedefine ulaşamayacağını bilse de her gün kızın yanında dolaşmış ve bir kez de olsun ona gözükmeye çalışmış. Hayalet, rutin bir şekilde devam etmiş ve tam iki ay sonra artık işi şansa bırakmak istememiş ve artık bir şeyler feda edip kıza ulaşmaya çalışacağına karar vermiş.

Hayaletin hoşlandığı kız, dalgalı uzun saçlara ve inanılmaz derecede göz alıcı ela renkli gözlere sahipmiş. Bu kız derslerdeyken, hayalet kızın önüne geçip bütün ders boyunca kızın gözlerine bakarmış, ancak hayalet karşılığını alamadığı için, bu onun için bu hiçbir şey ifade etmiyormuş. Belki de, o sınıfta hayaletin hoşlandığı kızdan daha güzel ve alımlı kızlar varmış; ancak, hoşlandığı kızın sevecenliği ve iç açıcı konuşmaları hayaleti derinden etkilemiş. Hayalet, o kızlardan bazılarına gözüke bilse bile gerçekten hoşlandığı kıza ulaşamamak ona acı veriyormuş. Aslında, hayaletin tek isteği sadece ona karşı verilmiş gülücükmüş.

Hayalet, sonunda ne yapacağına karar vermiş ve her gün biraz daha insan gibi davranarak, aynen bir insan gibi gözükebileceği fikrine varmış. Bu yapacağı şeyin kesinliği olmasa da, kendisine o kız için elinden gelen her şeyi yapacağına dair söz vermişti. Ancak, bunun için ona yardım edebilecek bir kişiye ihtiyacı varmış ve o da daha önceden bir “insan” gibi görünebilen bir hayalet arkadaşı olmuş. Bu arkadaşı, yıllar önce bir kızdan hoşlanmış ve aynen bu hayaletin hissettiği hisleri içinde barındırmış. Arkadaşı, bu kıza sadece iki günde ulaşmakla kalmayıp, uzun soluklu bir ilişki yaşamış, ancak hayalet bu kızdan vazgeçip eski hayatına geri dönmüş.

Hayalet, ilk olarak bir insan gibi düşünmeyi, hissetmeyi ve sevmeyi öğrenmeye karar vermiş. Sevmek, hayalet için zor olmayan ve çoktan tanıştığı bir kavrammış, bu da onun şansını daha da arttırmasına yardım ediyormuş. Ancak, hayaletin düşündüğü gibi başarması gereken iki şey belki de insanlığın en zor niteliklerinden biriymiş. Tabi, hayalet bu gülücüğün ona verildiğinden emin olmadığı için hemen sevinmemiş. Ne de olsa o soyut bir varlık olduğundan, kızın ona gülücük atma ihtimali azmış.

Hayalet, ilk görevini başarılı bir şekilde tamamlamış. Hissetmek gibi zor bir kavramı, sevdiği kızın yardımıyla bitirmiş ve sonunda da bir ödül olarak gülücük almıştı. Bu gülücük ne kadar kesin olmasa da hayalet için bir umut kaynağıymış. Hayalet, ilk görevini bitirdikten sonra hiç bekletmeden ikinci görevi olan “düşünme”ye başlamış. Hayalet, hissetme gibi zor bir aşamayı kat ettikten sonra düşünmenin bundan daha kolay olacağı kanısına varmış.

Düşünme, belki de hayaletlerin en son ihtiyacı olacağı şeymiş. Çünkü hiçbir hayaletin düşünme gibi bir niteliğe ihtiyacı yoktu. Hiçbiri kendini incitemediği gibi birbirlerini etkilemek için de bu özelliğe gerekleri yokmuş.

Hayalet, ilk yapması gereken şey gibi düşünme özelliğini de aynı yolla, yani kızın yanında tamamlamaya karar vermişti. Hissedebildiği için düşünme yeteneği de kuvvetlenen hayalete, sadece bir belirti yeterliydi. Düşünebildiğini gösteren bir belirti, onu insanlığa ulaşma yolunda daha sağlam bir yola sokmakla kalmayıp, inandığı somutlaşma özelliğine kavuşabileceğini inanıyordu. Ancak, hayalet bir kanıya varmıştı; “Nasıl bir belirti bulacaktım ?” Düşünmenin çok kolay olması ne kadar avantajlı bir şey olsa da ona somut bir kanıt lazımdı. Hayalet, haftalar boyunca sadece kızın yüzüne bakarak somut bir kanıt aramıştı, ancak bir türlü ulaşamamıştı. Ancak, yolun başındayken de karar verdiği gibi asla vazgeçmeyecekti.

Hepimiz için sadece bir kelime gibi olan “düşünmek”, aslında insanların her zaman başvurduğu bir yoldu ve hayalet de bunun farkında değildi. Bu kızdan hoşlandığından beri sadece o kızı düşünerek hayaller kurmuş ve kendine bir yol çizmişti. Ancak, her insan gibi hayalet de düşünmenin ne kadar gerekli ve anlaşılamaz bir durum olduğunu çözememişti ta ki hoşlandığı kızın bir derste “Düşünüyorum da düşüncelerin en güzeli, senin beni düşünüp düşünmediğini düşünmektir.” cümlesiyle başlamış kompozisyonunu görene kadar.

Hayalet, artık daha bir mutlu daha bir neşeliydi. Çünkü çoğu insanın zor eriştiği bu duyguları artık içinde hissedebiliyormuş ve kızda bir tebessüm bırakabildiğine daha da inanmaya başlamıştı. Tam iki koca ayın sonunda, hayalet her insanda bulunan en önemli üç özelliği kazanmıştı; Sevmek, Düşünmek ve Hissetmek. Bu duygular onun tamamen bir insan gibi düşünmesine yardım edecekti. Ancak, insanlar için her şey soyut varlıklar üstüne kurulu değildi. Belki de bir hayalet için en zor olan şey yani somut görünmek hayaletin bir diğer göreviydi ve bu diğerleri gibi kolay olmayacaktı.

Hayalet, kazandığı nitelikler sayesinde kendini biraz daha insan gibi hissetmeye başlamıştı ve bu onun biraz da böbürlenmesine neden oluyordu. Ancak, bunu hak ediyordu. Hiçbir engel onu yıpratamıyordu ve hayalet aynı azimle insanlık yolunda büyük adımlarla yoluna devam ediyordu.

Hayalet, yine hoşlandığı kızın okuluna giderken, yolda bir kız ona selam verdi ve hayalet birden terlemeye başladı. Ancak, hayalet yaşamı boyunca hiç terlememişti. Hemen kafasını aşağıya çevirdi ve ellerinin olduğunu, ardından da bacaklarının olduğunu gördü. İlk bulduğu mağazaya girerek aynaya baktı ve kendisinin inanılmaz derecede yakışıklı bir insan halini aldığını gördü. Ancak, bir sorun vardı. Bu halde okula gidemezdi ve bunu yüzünden de hoşlandığı kızla vakit geçiremeyecekti; fakat bunun dışında da artık istediği şeye sahipti; bir beden. Artık, istediği zaman kızla konuşabilecek ve onun kendisin görmesini sağlayabilecekti.

Hayalet, okulun son ziline kadar okul kapısının önünde bekledi ve sonunda kızı gördüğü an ona selam verdi ve konuşmaya başladı. Ancak, hayalet bazı duyguları öğrenirken nasıl kibar konuşulması gerektiğini öğrenemediği için kıza karşı biraz kırıcı oldu ve kız ona sinirli bir şekilde bakıp gitti. Hayalet, o anda anladı ki insan olmak hiç de kolay bir şey değildi ve daha öğrenmesi gereken çok şey vardı.

Hayalet, serüvenine başladığı zaman ki azimle daha da çalıştı ve çalıştı. Artık okuldaki en popüler öğrenciydi. Hayalet, insanların bu kadar anlaşılması zor varlıklar olduğunu bilseydi, belki de baştan vazgeçerdi. Ancak, bu kadar yol kat etmişken ve hedefine ulaşmak için bu kadar azimliyken hayalet hiç de vazgeçecek gibi değildi; ancak, birkaç gün sonra gördüğü şey onu tamamen yıprattı. Sevdiği kız başka biriyle çıkmaya başlamıştı ve bunca emeği neredeyse boşa gitmişti. Belki de o anda, insanlığın en üst seviyesine ulaştı. Hem hüzün hem de acıyı aynı anda yaşadığı ilk zamandı; ama bu her insanın yaşadığı bir andı.

Hayalet, sevdiği kızın başka birinden hoşlanmasını hiç aldırış etmeden ona karşı olan ilgisini sürdürdü ve ona yaklaşmaya çalıştı. Ancak, bir türlü kızın ona olan ilgisi artmadı. Hayalet, günlerce nerede hata yaptığını düşünmesine rağmen, bir türlü sonucunu bulamadı. O ana kadar kat ettiği bütün zorluklardan daha zor anlar yaşıyordu ve bu duygular hayalete zarar vermeye başladı. Her gün insanlıktan daha da koparak bir yeteneğini kaybetti. İlk önce güzel cildini, sonra dalgalı saçlarını teker teker kaybetti. Birkaç gün içinde adeta bir dilenci halini aldı ve okulun kapısında beklemeye başladı. Zil çaldığında her günkü rutin selamların hiçbiri yoktu, sadece kendi başına orada duruyordu. İnsanlar ona öyle bir bakıyordu ki hayalet kendini bir çöpmüş gibi hissediyordu. Aniden, biri ona selam verdi. Kafasını kaldırdığında inanılmaz şiddetli bir ışık yüzüne çarptı ve birden her taraf karardı.

Hayalet gözlerini açtığında, üstünde bir hafiflik hissediyordu ve bu hafiflik ona çok rahat geliyordu. Hayalet kafasını bedenine doğru çevirdiğinde yine eski halini gördü; Saydam bir varlık. Yine, başladığı yere geri dönmüştü; ancak, sadece bir artısı vardı ve o da geride bıraktıklarıydı. Hayalet, çok kısa bir süre içinde bir insan olmuş, insan gibi davranmayı, insan gibi konuşmayı öğrenmişti ve en önemlisi, bunun düşünüldüğü gibi kolay olmadığını ve herkes tarafından kolay elde edilemeyeceğini öğrendi.

Ertesi gün, hayalet okula gittiğinde kız yine oradaymış. Kızın sırasının üstüne oturduğunda kız aniden kâğıdına bir şeyler yazmaya başladı; “Senin orada olduğunu biliyorum ve benim için önemli olan senin bedenen değil de ruhen benim yanımda olman. Umuyorum ki yaşadığın şeylerden bir ders çıkarmışsındır ve maddiyatın maneviyattan daha önemsiz bir şey olduğunu öğrenmişsindir. Aslında, sen benim yanıma geldiğin ilk günden beri senin burada olduğunu biliyorum; ancak ne kadar ileri gidebileceğini görmek istedim ve bana gerçekten değer verdiğini gördüm. Senin her zaman yanımda olduğunu biliyorum…” diye bitirdi. Hayalet, bu yazıyı okuduktan sonra, gözünden yaş geldi ve kızın masasına düştü. Kız hayalete doğru bakarak gülümsedi ve dersi dinlemeye devam etti…

BECOMING A LEGEND

The newspaper on my body suddenly dropped to the floor with the effectiveness of the wind and I woke up shivering. Living without money on the benches was affecting me badly. Living on the streets was both psychologically and physically hard. I needed to find a job, how much money I will earn was not important. At least , I would spend my time working there ; furthermore , I would lend a help to somebody ; however , who could employ a sloppy , uneducated , poor man like me! As my father was taken to jail due to robbing, I had to leave school on the second grade to keep my family. I decided to escape from Puerto Rico to London by a refugee boat; however I couldn’t reach what I wanted in London and I spend twenty years living on the streets. From now on, I had to find a job being more dynamic.

I bought a newspaper to find a job and had a look at business advertisement, there were several jobs for me; however, I was decisive to take a job whatever it was. I glanced at all business advertisement one by one and found some appropriate jobs.

First of all, I applied for a job as a pet shop worker. I was thinking that I could overcome this job easily before I reached there; however, there were some problems. My skin was brown and I couldn’t speak fluently. I went to a telephone booth and called the pet shop owner. I arranged a job interview for an hour later. When I arrived there, I wasn’t even taken inside; I said I was there for a job interview. I hardly entered and the owner rejected me without letting me tell something. I was demoralized, finding a job was not as easy as I supposed. Secondly, I applied for a job as a pizza tosser. Likewise, I called them and arranged a job interview. When I arrived there, some of the employees told me that there was no garbage. Unbelievably, they supposed that I was a garbage man. What else could they suppose? I was re-demoralized; however, I ought not to allow them to let me down. Finally, I decided to apply for a new job. This job was working as a construction worker. I went to the construction site and I was accepted. The head of construction workers asked me to take some fizzy drinks and I set out through the market. While I was returning to the construction site, I saw a child crossing the street. While he was crossing the street, a car ran into him and I jumped to save him...

When I woke up, I was hardly recollecting what I did. I opened my eyes and saw the child I saved standing near me. Then, I noticed a woman near him; this woman was probably the child’s mother. Later, a nurse came and anesthetized me.

When I reopened my eyes, there was nobody around, the smell and coolness of the room only belonged to me; however, something was missing. I was feeling lightness on my body, I looked through my feet, and I had lost them. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Suddenly, I saw a note put near me. “There is a telephone number below. Call us!” was written on it. I called the nurse and telephoned the number. The number belonged to the child’s mother and she told me she would come in a few minutes.

Weirdly, she came four hours later, she coldly thanked to me; in all honesty, her thanksgivings wasn’t enough for me. Five minutes later, they went out. The woman had left some money for me. When I looked at the quantity of the money, I realized that it was only $100 banknote. I had saved her child however he left me little money. Was the life this much unfair?

They gave me a wheelchair and took $110 for it. $10 was the money I earned begging. I was no longer broken. On these days, penury was affecting me deeply. I had lost my feet for only $100. Suddenly, I heard a strange voice from the depth of my body. “You should steal, nothing else can save you” the voice said. I suppose it was the voice of the devil.

After a few weeks, I decided to help the people with filling in their boot in front of a market. Early on, I had difficulty in getting used to help the people without feet; however later on, I started to earn some money. I both felt myself psychologically good and was earning some money. Suddenly, a woman and a child caught sight of me. They were the child I saved and her mother. They saw me; however, they didn’t even care about me. A few days later, I saw them on the newspaper. The woman’s husband had died recently and this family was the one of the richest family in London. Although they were quite rich, they had given me only $100.

A few days later, while I was helping a man, he accidentally hit me and he went away leaving the tip on my body. Life was unfair. A woman who saw me approached and lifted me. She took me her home. When we arrived there, I realized that where she was living had no difference with a shanty house. I remembered the family of the child I saved. The child’s family had given me bit money; although, they were rich however this woman helped me; although, she was broken. After she gave me a meal, I left home while she was sleeping. I didn’t want to be a burden to that woman. I went to the market to work. When I inspected my pocket, I saw exactly $10.000 there. When I saw the money, I directly went her home. When I arrived there, I saw the funeral ceremony of her. I suppose she gave me all of her money as she would die.

I decided to open a gift shop in the name of her with the money she gave me. In this gift shop, I was planning to employ some poor staff to help them with keeping their family. I found some qualified staff and accept them for the job. Fortunately, I rented the store cheaper than its price. I was grateful to him.

Early on, the gift shop wasn’t selling as I supposed; however, we did a first class job. One day, a businessman came and bought all the gifts we produced. Doubtless, I was the luckiest poor man in the world. Out of the blue, I earned quite some money; however, a few days later, three civil servants came to my shop and told me I was selling illegal goods without registration of copyright. When I went to the court, I saw the man who bought all of the gifts in my shop. This man had taken charge of copyright. I was judged because of this and I had to pay $5000 fine. The man had won the case because of being well-known.

I decided to sell miniature toys in my shop. My miniature toys sold well through my qualified staff and I opened another shop thereabout London Bridge. I was no longer poor; I was middle-class. My new aim was employing more staff getting rich. I also denominated my new shop in the name of the woman.

To become a legend took fifteen years of my life. My shops’ incomes were increasing day by day and I was broadcast on the business magazines. The headline was “A journey through the richness.” Then, I opened several new shops in my country, Puerto Rico. The woman who gave me money became a company name.


I recently had ten shops, three shops in Puerto Rico, seven shops in London. I got quite rich. On my first days in London, nobody even talked to me and approached me because of my skin color and pronunciation; but, nowadays everybody wanted to talk to me even elite girls.

As my jobs were expanding, I was offered to be a copartner for new miniature shops by a French businessman from Paris.

To be lonely in Paris was difficult to admit. One day, an attractive woman came to my shop. As soon as I saw her, I offered to hang out with her and she accepted it. When I was a poor man, nobody was aware of me; but now, everybody was near me not caring about my feetlessness.

The woman and I became closer day by day and started to hang out more often. One day, she offered to have some drinks with me. When I entered the house, everywhere consisted of cocaine, extacy and marijuana. She gave me some drugs and told me if I used them, I would be more successful. I accepted to use them so that our relationship wouldn’t be bruised. After using drugs for three weeks, while I was going to London for a trip, I went into a coma and closed my eyes to life when I was fifty.

Richness had blinded me and I spent all my money to the drugs. I lost all my shops in poker and refused the gold tray of God. I can see that, if I hadn’t saved the child , hadn’t worked in front of the market, the man hadn’t hit me and the woman hadn’t helped me I wouldn’t have been so successful and rich. I could have eaten meal in the construction site. Now, I was an unworthy dead man. Although, people thought that they hit the jack, they weren’t as lucky as they thought.

If money is silver, to be warmhearted is gold...

THE LİNE SEPERATES THE DEATH AND LIFE

*There might be lots of grammer mistakes, sorry for that.

My throat was bone-dried. For too many days, I wasn't able to eat anything. I was feeling like if I touch my tongue, it will disrupt. Breathing was becoming more harder hour by hour and the smoke in the air was making my eyes sick; but, I was lucky to be alive. If the others could be as lucky as I am, they might stay alive and be with me.

Some days ago, maybe the biggest earthquake took part in my country, Ivory Coast. I was despondent to lose my family members; however, I was praying the God to let me alive. Also, I needed to be strong and believe to leave; otherwise, I was going to die.

For my luck, I was in the bathroom, when the earthquake happened. I made myself a life chamber between toilet and bath. If I think that situation all my life, I suppose I might not be able to find this idea. In addition to this, I was so helpless that I drank water from the toilet and it takes me 4 more days to live. However, when the toilet's water reserve finished, I started to do that by the natural ways.

Suddenly I heard some dogs barking and I woke up excitedly. When I first heard the barkings, I directly stand up. The dogs barking was becoming closer and closer; then I shouted " Help me! I am here, please save me, I'm so tired." Actually, I couldn't say that, because I wasn't able to shout. I was starving of thirstyness and there was no water in my throat. All of a sudden the rocks above my head started to shake, I had never felt the feelings that I do at that moment. I was going to survive, the trials that I had all the week was going to be beneficial. However, the shaking stopped and silence took part. My dreams were broken, I guess they were moving above my head and couldn't hear me, and went away. Then, a rock fell down to my head and everywhere became dark...

I was complicated. There were two wises -Death and Life- trying to explain something to me. Death was talking friendly; but, Life was talking more meaningfully. After a long discussion, I decided to go with the wise Death. I looked sorry to Life and left there. Death was taking me to his home and told me he will take care of myself in his house; but suddenly Death fell down to the floor.

The weird dream ended with a weird shock. Then, I opened my eyes. I was napping on something that I can't recognise and I was just able to see the above. The above was only white. I guess, I was in the heaven.

When I closed my eyes again. Death was on the ground laying and Life was smiling looking at him with a baseball racket. Then, I decided to go with Life, because Death was weak and injured. Death standed up and tried to punch Life with his last power; but, he couldn't succeeded and died there.

I opened my eyes, I was feeling relaxed than I've ever had. I saw a woman behind me, when I looked carefully I understood she was a nurse. The nurse came to my near and asked am I good or not. I tried to talk; but, I still wasn't able to talk. I tried to talk as possible as I could do, so I told my situation. After the nurse went away, a doctor appeared, " To be alive again should be a different feeling." I was mixed. What was the doctor was talking about !? I told the doctor to talk more meaningly and doctor started to explain, " When they took you to the hospital, few of your organs were working clearly. Then, we decided to give a shock on you; but you refused. So, we took you to the morgue; however, while we were taking you, your eyes opened and closed again." then he added, " I supposed you are the luckiest man I've ever seen in my career. When they took you under the rocks, you weren't alive. But, the dogs were smelling you differently and the workers decided you to take here. Before that happens, while they're moving around, they saw the rocks felling down under and saw you there." and he ended.

When I left the hospital, I was thinking how lucky I am. I guess, the answer was " my connection to the life". After all the things happened, I decided to move to France, besides staying in Ivory Coast, remembering all the difficulites I had.

Why did I create this website ?

I created this website, just because I enjoy writing and hearing some comments about my writings. I can continue writing, if there exists readers of my stories or else I cannot continue on my way.
